For this project, think about the varied and often ambiguous associations of the word, “fix.” Fix has many contextual meanings. It can refer to healing or mending, or corruption or craving.

All of these meanings become temporary states of being, revealing a life lived in flux. How can you use your work to create a visual for your own shifting inner world? In what ways can you use unusual objects or materials to symbolize your interpretations of life events that linger?

Franklin County Coroner Dr. Nate Overmire kindly requests your presence at an unveiling of a book to share stories of persistence and courage.

The Franklin County Coroner’s Office has had the honor of hosting the art exhibition, “Shadow to Light: Breaking the Sttgma Against Addiction.” Tt is an exhibition of art showcasing the work of artists whose lives have been impacted by addiction and mental illness.

Selected pieces of art are featured in a storytelling book to continue collaborative efforts to bring awareness to the disease of addiction and to combat stigma.

This storytelling book unveiling will begin at 5:30 pm. Wednesday, Aug. 20 at the 2090 Frank Road location of the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.

     August is Overdose Awareness Month.
